Most people will ask what the KATTUN is moment they see the title. KATTUN is a music group of six Japanese boys who belong to the company named ‘Johnnys’. Their names are Kamenashi Kazuya, Akanishi Jin, Taguchi Junnoseke, Tanaka Koki, Ueda Tatsuya, Nakamaru Yuichi. Though the average age of the members is twenty, they all have more than five years work experience. The year of 2006 is KATTUN’s seven-year-old birthday. In this year, with the youngest member Kamenashi Kazuya becoming an adult, KATTUN welcome their debut with the Single ‘Real Face’, the album ‘Best of KATTUN’ and the DVD ‘Real Face film’. After seven year’s wait, their debut shock the Japanese Oricon and their fans.

I used to think that stars are the people who can work and make money easily. But when I knew KATTUN and ‘Johnnys’, I found my idea was totally wrong. ‘Johnnys’ is called a company which gathered handsome boys. Each year, ‘Johnnys’ would hold a audition to enroll new members whose ages are about twelve. These boys are named ‘Johnnys’ Junior’. They must have a lot of training lessons every Sunday. At the same time, they are also a general student. With more and more boys joining, the competition pressure of them is also heavier. Not all the ‘Johnnys’ Junior’ could have the chance to debut. Those who can have the debut are the best ones of ‘Johnnys’ Junior’.

Before KATTUN’s debut, they all experienced the cruel competition. Seven years ago, when they began to be KATTUN’s members, there are different kinds of challenges. At first, their work was dancing behind their seniors. At that time, they were still a group of children. They always had different ideas and they also would argue with each other. And because of the members’ different personalities, they always couldn’t be uniform. This caused a lot of their seniors’ dislike. They also confused in that period. But one of their senior, Takki, supported them and encouraged them ‘You’re the best!’ Takki’s words made them decide to keep their own style. And this style is one of the reasons made their fans craze for them.

The most serious challenge happened before their first concert. When they knew they could first have their own stage, they all felt happy and made all their efforts to do the best. However, one day, because Kame didn’t forgive Ueda’s mistake, Ueda felt annoyed and then they beat each other. Kame was very angry and even said ‘I want to resign!’ Luckily, their boss Mr. Johnnys didn’t blame them and Kame also realized his fault. Kame and Ueda reconciled at last and sang ‘Best friend’ in their concert.

Seven years is a long time for them to wait. During this period, they met three group’s debut: Takki & Tsubasa, NewS and C.Jr8. They had a lot of ideas about the reason why they can’t have their debut. Even some members began to think whether they should have another job. But they finally welcomed their debut. Now they are not confused about their future because they are ‘KATTUN’.

Nothing can replace this name ‘KATTUN’. I believe that after their debut, they will create a ‘KATTUN’ age!
